ABOUT WILS
Restaurant Wils, located next to the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. On the spot where in 1928 the Summer Olympics took place and where the Olympic flame was lit for the first time in history. Based on the idea of architect Jan Wils: he wanted every Amsterdammer to be able to see the Olympic flame burning in the evening.
Now, almost a century later, the flame burns again at Stadionplein. Restaurant Wils pays a culinary tribute to fire, the primal force at the heart of every kitchen. Amidst open flames, wood-fired ovens, and hanging grills, Master Chef Joris Bijdendijk and Chef de Cuisine Thomas Val create refined dishes straight from the fire in the open kitchen.
Team Wils controls fire like no other. Together with the wines of Sommelier Barbora, and the surprising creations of Pastry Chef Tania, Wils guarantees a culinary and relaxing evening out. Take a seat at the kitchen table, bar or table and let the fire do its work.
Wils received a Michelin star in 2021, a year after opening.
