ABOUT WILS
Restaurant Wils, located next to the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. On the spot where in 1928 the Summer Olympics took place and where the Olympic flame was lit for the first time in history. Based on the idea of architect Jan Wils: he wanted every Amsterdammer to be able to see the Olympic flame burning in the evening.
And now, almost a century later, there is a fire burning again on Stadionplein. Restaurant Wils pays a culinary tribute to fire, the primal power of all kitchens. In the middle of fireplaces, wood ovens and grills, Master Chef Joris Bijdendijk and Chef de Cuisine Thomas Val work in the open kitchen on refined dishes straight from the fire.
Team Wils controls fire like no other. And together with the wines of Sommelier Barbora, the surprising creations of Pastry Chef Tania and the beloved breads of Wils Bakery Café, Wils guarantees a culinary and relaxing evening out. Take a seat at the kitchen table, bar or table and let the fire do its work.
Wils received a Michelin star in 2021, a year after opening.
